Futian campus belongs to a new typology of schools developed in Shenzhen. The dense requirements of the brief and site, push the proposal to find solutions that are not commonly seen in Chinese schools, already characterized for their density.

This high-rise school presents a new scope of challenges to be addressed through design.

The school canteen, located on the ground floor of the dorm tower, is meant to not only be the student's dining room but their living room and study area. The proposal gives the students a relaxed and playful space to take over.

Using contrasting strong colors and cheap materials such as tiles, paint, and metal mesh, the proposal seeks to highlight the dynamic nature of the architecture with middle-height floors and breaks in its horizontality. A refreshing space to take a break in the middle of the school grounds.
